I believe the last couple of month in my life have been extraordinary I’ve released many attachments and have started on what I believe to be a journey into my purpose. Finally I am becoming able to accept me for me, for the things that I cannot change and allowing (as my Soror Lauren would say) the glory and beauty of God to be revealed to me and through me. It’s Funny because there have been so many hurts in my life thus far, but looking back I owe who I am to those past hurts. All the broken hearts and shed tears, the break-ups and the make-ups, and most importantly the agony of letting people go from my life. I believe that is one of the hardest things in the world to do. To walk away from people you truly care for, people you truly love sometimes for no reason at all other than you knowing it’s the best thing for both parties while all the time praying and having faith that what God has for you is far greater than what you released. Finally though I’m beginning to feel liberated, free from the bondage I once felt encamped in. I suppose you may be wondering exactly what I’m talking about, but I believe this is a stage that every woman goes through. I phase of yearning to be loved, wanting acceptance and a need to just merely survive. Recently I decided to take step one in my journey, I’ve decided to get sisterlocks. I’m so excited about making this step and submitting to such a permanent physical change but most importantly I’m ready to begin the permanent transformation of my life, by truly separating myself from those who cannot benefit and uplift me. From those who wish to hinder my growth physically, mentally and most of all spiritually and from those who are my weakness. For those who have been my support throughout the years (Mom, T and close family and friends), for those who are new to my life and finally to those who I’ve never met I hope you will journey with me into the dawning of my future…
