4 months and retightening

Well I finally got to tame the beast. My retightening took almost 5 hours, yep thats right 5 hours. Now that its done I'm sooo happy I can see and feel my scalp again. My hair feels so much softer now that it has been retighten, all is right with the world, almost there wasn't much my consultant could do about my build up especially given the fact that I had to have such an extensive retightening. Here are some pics of before and after. My hair has def grown a lot this time around.

Looks really good!! Remind me that I need to go for retights every 4-5 weeks. I am so tempted at times not to because I think that it hasn't grown very much. You really had a lot of growth!!!

Wow! That was definitely a lot of new growth - your hair is obviously very happy :)

Did you ever take a picture of the build up you keep talking about? Did your consultant say there was anything that could/should be done or have you guys just decided to leave it be?

well she did take down a few and redo them but she said other than that there is really nothing that can be done. She does not really want me to use any other shampoo that may help because she says that could have been one of the problems to begin with. For now she just says continue to use the sisterlock shampoo and just a water spritz if needed.

also if you look at the retightened photos you can kind of see the build up, with the one that of the back of my hair look at the bottom a little towards the right and you will see the build up on two of my locks, it looks kinda like flash burn in the pic but its build up and also with the rtightened pic with me facing forward with my head down the lock right in the middle of the front has build up again it looks ind of like the light from the flash but its build up.

Thanks for responding - I see what you mean now but honestly you have to look VERY hard to see it (if that helps you feel better about it :) )

I have a couple of locks that look like that - I thought it was lint or something lol, I just hide them under the 'goodlooking' locks :)

I'm using the SL Shampoo too (most days) but sometimes I'm a bit naughty and use the Jamaican Mango and Lime one (cos I like how it tingles lol).

Ps - I still can't believe how much your hair has grown - it's amazing!

Try putting a few essential oil drops in your water sprtiz, around 6-8 just for a pleasant smell on your locks.

@ Bajan Lily: LOL and yeah it has grown a lot right I'm hoping it continues to do so because it is growing very healthy and for that I am very pleased. Maybe its the sun :-)

@ Gigglz I used to use an essential oil spritz but I have recently stopped just until I get to the root of the build up problem, I do miss my hair smelling lemony minty, or like sweet berries and vanilla though. :-(
