Coloring a bust!!!! Sooo Um my main objective for adding a rinse to my hair was to deal with my build up issue in the back and my hair. DOn't you know that it did absolutely NOTHING!!!!!!!!!! Nothing do you believe that. The build up so still there bright as day I couldn't believe. SO what do I have to show for it nothing but crispy lock. After the rinse no color showed up at all like I said not even over the build up and my hair felt like straw. SO I had to take affirmative action and add conditioner lots of condition then after I rinsed and rinsed and rinsed I added some fantasia tea tree oil because my hair still felt dry and the braided my hair. I had no slippage throughout the whole process which was about the only good thing. Thats about it :-( I have not tried the shampoo yet because I didn't want to do too much to my hiar all at once. I plan on doing a moisture treatment with the SL products the end of this week just to make sure my hair has a little added moisture after the rinse. But all in all my hair feels and looks ok. Not as soft as it normally is but I feel after a few washes it will be back to normal. I twisted it and did a twist out which came out somewhat ok. Not a fav but definitely an option.

Kay,
I am curious… What type of build-up are you experiencing? Is it from products? Is it lent? What are you using to cleanse your scalp and hair? Have you always had this issue?
I am convinced it is not from product simply because I do not use anything in my hair Not even essential oils anymore. I will say that I rarely and I mean rarely even do a water spritz in my hair now. It is just white and it isn't really lint maybe after it forms then some lint may also attach to it...? But my hair is always covered when I'm at home and relaxing so I don't see how it oculd be lint. And Im in florida so I'm not wearing any sweaters or clothing that would deposit lint to my hair. I'm actually not sure what it is to be honest I just know that its there and I can't stand it. But I have received some helpful tips from Blaqkofi and from a website she referenced to on her page just about doing plain water rinses between washes and squeezing the locks that have the build up while they are saturated and that should eventually get it out. So hopefully this will work.
really though I'm just glad I'm not experiencing this that much in the front of my hair because that would just be horrible.
Keep us updated. I was just curious as to what could be going on. I don't have an issue with build-up, but I do have dry scalp and sometimes my hair/scalp gets really flaky. As far as product build-up, the only thing that has helped me is VO5 Clarifying shampoo. I used it after going to the beach and trust me I had GOO-GOBBS of dirt and everything else in my hair. I don't use it often, but when I need something to break it down I use it. I hope her tips work. I am going to try an ACV rinse this week to help with my dandruff..
This is going to sound weird but my consultant used Dawn dish detergent in my hair and it removed all my build up. My build up was from dry scalp and I occasionally used Jojoba oil. I have been using the Seabreeze spritz I talked about in my blog my scalp has been clear and itch free.I will take a pic to show you my scalp a week out. Previously, it would have been white as snow by now.
I am going to have to try the seabreeze spritz...
I think you will have to keep coloring in order to see a color finally, or just go with highlights.
Cute Style!
